The stockings were thrown together - I would have had time to make patchwork stockings with embroidered/appliqued names, but ...
I had great fun making them when I finally realised they were needed at the end of the following week! Gulp, the 3 that were quilted were overlocked by one member of my Wed craft group, & I finished the hand work (old 2" cotton bias binding) during the week & another member overlocked the 3rd one the following Wed., & they were given away 2 days later. phew.

Sandra, How fortunate that you have friends who are willing and capable to help out like that. I'm sure you'd do the same for them. The stockings were made with love and cooperation . That makes them extra special.

I just finished this pressie for the friend who lives in a very compact apartment which she calls the Bunny Hutch! It's almost 3am on Christmas Day so I really must get to bed as she will be collecting me in 8 hours so we can have our Christmas picnic lunch! Happy Christmas to all sandra Attachments:

Sandra, I do see the similarity between the Yokohama penguin show and the quilt pattern. Cute idea!
The Bunny Hutch banner is very cute and creative. Your friend must have been thrilled to have it? Did you enjoy your indoor Christmas picnic? "Scattered showers" here would not have been rain.

love those penguins!
the forecast scattered showers joined up over the Sydney Metropolitan area & became widespread rain, so we had a lovely lunch indoors. Sharyn loved the panel, & hung it from 2 kitchen door handles, & we looked at it over lunch. The panel will have been moved by now to somewhere permanent.
She has a newish kitchen & a brand-new living room/bedroom floor (laid 2 days beforehand!) & I admired both while we ate & talked.
we had a great Christmas day.

after a small? break I'm back working on my penguins! fallen over box & bow ready to be buttonholed. After a lot of trouble - I cut one piece in the wrong fabric, so cut it again - 3 times before getting it right! Some pieces have been stitched on, others stuck down with double sided sticky stuff. sandra Attachments:

MUST get back to quilting! I'm looking for a printed 'flame' pattern fabric in red, orange and yellow on a black ground. I've found it with very small flames, but I'd really prefer larger ones. I don't really want to hand applique a lot of blocks with all those curves and points. Yes, I've searched the internet. (Mr. Google is your friend) Imagine the 'classic' Harley-Davidson flames for a lap quilt. Large center panel and black, yellow, orange then another black border. Any ideas?
Have I ever posted any pics of the Santa Socks I make with velvet, felt and beads? I can't remember. If not, I'll post a couple.
Good morning from Wyobraska, which is about to get a major snow storm.

Sandra, It's good to see that you're back to the penguins. I'm eager to see the finished product.
What a nuisance, having to re-cut multiple times! I hope you had enough extra material that it won't cause a problem for getting all the pieces you need?

My lovely friend Sue provided the pinks as well as many other colours! The piece is about the size of 2 fingers, so I didn't waste too much!
She has a room full of fabrics & bits & pieces & is always trying to give them away, but folks tend to give her stuff & she always ends up with more! I will be giving her bits of he fabrics i bought (sky, grass, borders, backing) when I finish. So she will have more, again.
