they are table-less table centres! Same principal as my wall-less wallhanging - no space on the table to put them there!

They will make any table look elegant should space become available.

I have a new sewing machine! It cost me all of $2.50 the little blue thing in front is a Toshiba USB! I can't find anything about it. Searching via name & model - nuffin useful, & miniature sewing machines give working machines, search on miniature sewing machines no moving parts gives doll house pieces & small working machines. sheesh!

That's got me stumped Sandra I know several modern machines use usb to store embroidery stitches but the Viking 6000 is an older model cannot see a reason for it

Does the USB actually fit into the machine or did you put it there to give us the sense of scale? What are you trying to find about/for the machine, Sandra?
As an aside, Huskvarna is where my family live in Sweden. The factory there has made everything you can imagine, from rifles to self propelled (robotic) lawn mowers.

some folks put coins in photos of miniatures to show scale, so I used the nearest small thing, a USB stick.
I dislike mysteries, I've done a lot of searching for this little machine but can't find anything, This is obviously proof that everything is not on the internet (shock, horror!)

my latest vintage embroidery, bought from my favourite charity shop (the one that sells needlework stuff - unfinished things & unwanted things & old & new) SEMCO was an Australian needlework company which sold traced linen & I have a small collection of linens that need stitching. I'll take them with me the I go away in 2 weeks to collect money & do other admin stuff at a Dance weekend. Attachments:

I bought this from an old wares/new stuff shop a few years ago. Someone decided to finish an old traced lined dressing table set in her own inimitable way - by sewing along every line even SEMCO & NOVELTY VANITY SET & item number 730. She used several strands of 6-stranded embroidery cotton to couch down 6 strands of cotton. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed it in my collection! Attachments:

Wouldn't it be interesting if the pieces could tell you their history? I wonder how many different homes each had along the way? It's wonderful that someone has provided a place for them to go when one person can no longer keep them and wait for another to come along who will appreciate them.
Was the intention that each section of the dressing table set be cut out and used individually?

The designer intended the set to be cut put & given a crocheted or lace edging - the re-purposer wanted a single item!
Reuse & re-purpose is a good way of not creating waste.

Sandra your lovely picture brought back wonderful memories of Mum ironing the transfer onto what she called shower cloths(nothing to do with water) then on warm summer days we would sit outside together and embroider it.

Megan, I collect old embroideries, & until recently had a lot of transfers, but I donated them along with a lot of other unwanted items to a charity shop which only takes craft materials. It's a treasure cave! Doll mentioned in Trying Something New Attachments:

Sandra, Those garments are so sweet! You're a very talented woman to be able to make them from a drawing.
