well, it is still waiting to be finished but this is what I was doing recently - I'm also making another kimono cushion as my friend's daughter loved it. The coathangers are children/babies hangers which will go to the same hospital shop where all my coathangers go, & the bib was a panel I found with my patchwork fabrics so I sacrificed 2 new teatowels to make the backing (ps. no baby is going to dribble onto it, it's too cute!) Last week at the craft & quilt show I bought a Hoshi folded star kit & a KikuKincyaku pouch kit, the bit in the middle is a pincushion. The only other thing I bought was a light for my machine - strangely enough I can't find it on the site of the folks I bought it from (at twice the price of this American version!) sandra (who has enough stuff & doesn't need to buy more - not!) These were the only quilts that I liked enough to photograph - most were over-quilted (in my humble non-quilter opinion) - anyway the style of machine quilting I don't like makes them very stuff, not cuddly. I call it brain quilting - the curvy lines look like brains.

The bib is adorable! I wouldn't trust a baby to not dribble on it though. The coat hangers are very pretty. They must sell very well?

Sensible purchases. Everyone needs a machine light that can be directed where it's needed. The kits will be fun to make this winter.
The quilts you photographed are each very unique. It must have been a lot of extra work for the people who made the quilts about stitch and the one with the tree against the red "sky". The four panels with the wavy backgrounds are intriguing. They feel like seasons. The quilt with colourful flowers set against a black background is very striking.

the tree on the red rocks of Kata Tjuta is a cutout silhouette! & the four panels are a representation of the seasons. When I wrote no baby is going to dribble on the bib, I meant I won't be giving it to one!

Thanks for the further explanations. What do you intend to do with the bib?

12 months ago I took custody of a length of vintage fabric to make a quilt cover & instrument cover for a friend & I finally gave it to her yesterday (Saturday)! Naturally she had forgotten about it (oops) & naturally it only took a few hours to finish them, after cutting the quilt cover too short I left it alone - occasionally thinking vaguely I could do this or that ... Finally on Wed. night I picked the incomplete cover up & squashed my 80% down quilt in, realised too small was not a problem, decided the last piece of fabric could make a cushion & that I would quilt the instrument cover. So I backed it with calico & thin batting, then bought some large snaps, a 20" cushion insert & an 18" zip. I made the cushion Thursday night & started the quilting on Friday, finishing in on the 2.5 hour train grip to my friend's place. she loved them

I'll be visiting my friend next weekend for a small festival & just might be sleeping under the quilt! the chair seat is still waiting to be attached to the chair cushion (blush) the poodle apron just needs a small amount of machining to be put together (another blush) but - the 2 kits I bought at the Craft show have been done - I haven't cut off the leftover bits of the folded Hoshi star so I can show friends how it was done Attachments:
