having lotsa' better things to do, I decided to decorate my plain black net so-called makeup bag (better described as medications bag as it is full of tablets & band-aids & a token mirror) Black bag inside a black leather bag = hard to find, so after replacing some anti-inflammatories I used over the weekend camping, I did not put it back in my bag but took it immediately to my table. I wasted some time looking for a bag containing several unfinished vintage embroideries & stranded cottons threads I knew were on a side table (why pick up the tin of sorted & labelled stranded cottons in the bookcase?) Then I wasted even more time untanglng them: I only needed to cut twice right at the end as these threads had fluffed up & became one (or to be precise) two knots! I really enjoy untangling threads & yarns & need to finish sorting out the incredible mess of tapestry wools one of my students has when we start up again in a few weeks. Finally I started running stitches across the bag - notice how very hand-made they are - no 2 stitches the same, no rows parallel! The I made a tassel out of some leftovers. I wonder if I can add a pic of my fan case, another black/navy item I was loosing in my bag, a grosgrain ribbon case fastened with velcro decorated with running stitch using a length of feather yarn that I was knitting with! as you will notice I used flash for one pic. The scarf/shawl in the background is closer in colour to the bag background.

Good idea, Sandra! I can never work out why bag manufacturers make the lining in a dark colour.....it's probably practical, but trying to find anything in it is like looking into a coal mine without a light.

untangling is fun! Joan - what crafty stuff are you up to? Well I am a great Starter of projects....an eventually finish. I have a afghan that Rags has got me started on it is little squares and entralac crocheting. also a scrap afghan knit on circular needle using all colors ( I will ask my dear friend to take a pix) I crochet the ends together and it makes it double thickness and uses up scraps of wool. I have done $ so far the grankids all want them , They are like a "Linus blanket" I also have a cross stich picture on the go. I bought the printed canvas at a yard sale several years ago and am doing my own colors of embroidery thread. My fingers still don't have all the feeling back so it is hard to hold a fine needle for long. I am thankful to do anything. What are all your hobbies?

I have a bit more arthritis in my hands, it was a bit in one finger, now big & little bits in a few more fingers - worse is in the first finger of my left hand. But I can still hold a fine needle & make small stitches.
All my hobbies - hmmmm - making felt toys, applique & a bit of quilting - but never quilts!, doing jigsaws, a bit of knitting, reading, folk clubs & singing along with choruses, making a mess & not cleaning up (hehe)

All my hobbies - hmmmm - making felt toys, applique & a bit of quilting - but never quilts!, doing jigsaws, a bit of knitting, reading, folk clubs & singing along with choruses, making a mess & not cleaning up (hehe) I don't know what to say.. I was diagoanoised with Non Hodgkins about about 11/2 years ago . it started to act up a year ago in my stomach ,I had 3 growths and stared chemo therapy last January. It really hit me hard. I was hospitalized 4 times Had many transfusions and had a real rough time. My one granddaughter came home to help me (could not have made it thro without her) had 6 chemo's My youngest son lives with me and took care of me also. there where times I could not get up without help. My precious friend Rags would come over and sit by my side and visit me a lot, as I did not go out much. She was my lifeline and always positive. I am up and at life again and clear of cancer for now ,but have heart problems that will have to be fixed. I go to hospital once a month for a transfusion of special 'Juice' to raise my immune system for 6 months,. I suffer from "narnoscopsy" (spelling wrong" ) nerves destroyed by chemo in my hands and feet, but I can walk and do things now. Some I understand cant walk and are in terrible pain all the time, I feel it all the time but it is bearable. Rags thought I should expain some of my comments I am going to be just fine, every day is a gift!!~ joan
