Hi Joan, Were you able to finish the cross stitch picture today? I'll certainly be happy to help you upload a photo here.

Well wonders never cease!!! After 6 years I am within hours of finishing a cross stitch picture. Hope I can get ragdall to help me with a pix and I will put it up for all to see. The next question is what of many projects to start next? weeelll, passing on my years of experience I can suggest the one at the top of the pile, or the one you've had the longest, or the pink one, or the pretty scene, or the one you bought last week/month, or the one you got as a a present ..... Then if the choice is too hard, just buy a new one! ;D

My 82 year old uncle, the one with the knitting machine, just sent me a prayer shawl. I love to keep my computer room on the cool side and wear this as I surf. Last week I bought material for the niece #2 quilt, blues and browns. I'll post pictures when I get something sewn. I'm about half done cutting strips - big job. This is the kind of project that tells you to cut all the fabric before doing any sewing. I'm not sure if I like this method. I'd rather put a block together first to see if I like it, then make changes as I go along. At least I know I like this pattern, and I had some expert help choosing the 18 different blues, browns and greens. What could go wrong?

Ah, rug hooking. We did buy her a kit one Christmas when she was about 14, but as none of us actually knew how to use it, it was not a success. About ten days ago my wife and I visited my mother-in-law (who lives some 300 miles from us) and got a lesson using those rug hook gadgets, so maybe this project will get off the ground at long last. ;D

I just "mortgaged the farm" to buy the materials to make a six foot tall wall hanging of the coat of arms of the Yukon Territory. I'll have to transfer the image to the canvas, myself. I hope that ragdall will help me do this. It took me six years to finish the needlepoint. I hope that I'll live long enough to finish this wall hanging.

I'm not sure of either of those things - first we have to find the box its stored in, which is under several years worth of collected clobber...
I don't think she was serious, but The Daughter was recently contemplating making a huge family tree wall hanging (like the one in the Harry Potter films); we have all the relevant information for something enormous, but since only a fraction of the material would be embroided, it would be less ambitious than yours, I think.

I'm really pleased - I am sewing the binding down on a quilt, it's the largest one I have made all by myself. I quilted it myself (!) by machine, it's the largest one I have done - I've only done baby quilts before this. When the binding is finished I will put a picture on my blog.

I'm working round the clock to get another quilt pieced. This one is blue and brown, gaelic garden pattern. I used 18 different blues, browns and greens, but when I put a blue border on it, it will be a "blue" quilt.

I have ordered the canvass and wool to do a 6 ft by 40 " rug hooking of the crest of the Yukon Territories for my son who lives in Whitehorse. I have zillions of projects here at home , but new is always a challenge. Joan

I'm not sure if this counts, but I regestered some time ago to take part in this. If my name is one of those out of the hat, I'll let you know
