Here it is mid January and I thought nothing was blooming until I looked around my house. This is the best I can do this month.

12 flowers on my hoya last week! Almost more flowers than leaves, it's over 30 years old - I took it from my parent's garden in 1976 or 78. Last season it didn't have so many flowers.

begonia with ornamental birds - 3 birds & leaves on spike meant to be put into plant & sway nicely in the breeze. Not that I get much breeze in my place - all my plants are inside. Begonias & Christmas/zygocactus face north & hoya faces east. sandra

My hoya only bloomed once. As best I remember it is a very sweet blossom.
Rags, those pictures really are spectacular.

Mary, Thank you. A black background always helps. Sandra, I think that your birds must be of the same species as some that watch over my philodendron . A friend had a plant like yours, (with only one bloom at a time), the fragrance was lovely. I didn't know it was a hoya. With 12 blooms your entire flat must smell wonderful.

Rags - I've never noticed a perfume on my hoya, wot a fooey, maybe I should throw it away & get one with perfume! I'm planning on buying a few more plants - maybe I can look for another hoya. I have 4 spots left in my windows, tho unfortunately none are hanging spots, but I can always move one of the smaller plants down to the windowsill. Hoyas - www.collectorscorner.com.au/Cacti/CactihoyaList.htm - mine is a Carnosa I have another old plant, a begonia, & here's a pic from when it was very young c.1979 - hanging plant to the right, next to curtain. I was living at Bondi Beach & the window faced east.
