Still no peonies or iris here. The lilacs are sorta blooming but a lot got caught in a late freeze. The strawberries are blooming their little hearts out! I may not be able to keep up with the berry picking!
The clematis vine has a green shoot on it, day lilies multiplied like crazy but no stems yet.

WOW! to the flowers themselves & the number of pics on the one post. Sandra, Thank you. The "Attachment:" thingy didn't seem to be working last night. It took a long time to code the images using links to my photos on Flickr and the "Insert Table" function (the icon that looks like a square cake cut into nine pieces). rags

Forget-me-nots and Bleeding Hearts in July? Curioser and curioser...
Rags, I'd love to see a panorama picture of the garden. I can't imagine such variety...especially in July!

Mary, Please keep in mind that I live farther north than the southern part of Alaska. Our growing season is much later and shorter than yours is. Joan lost a hanging begonia to frost when I was away last week. Nighttime temperatures since I returned home have been in the high 30s and low 40s F.
I'll try to take some overview photos this week, but I don't think they'll show much. My garden is not a showpiece. It consists of overgrown flower beds spread out in various scattered locations throughout my property, often with individual plants blooming in them. The flowers look best as close-ups because of the clutter in the beds.
The bleeding hearts usually bloom most of the summer. The forget-me-nots are almost finished. I pulled most of them out after I took the picture because the leaves tend to get something that looks like mildew on them. I also pulled out the canola which was growing under the bird feeders and mowed the clover.

Lovely, rags. What steps does one follow to use the table function in that way, please? I'm curious: Have any of you seen this form of annual poppy? It's a new selection in our breeding program. Attachments:

Maeve, The poppy is beautiful! I've never seen one like it. I've tried to lay out how to use a table to display a group of photos, here . I don't think I explained it very well, but maybe you can figure it out? You need to know the urls of photos that are on another site, such as Flickr to link to them. rags

Thank you for the explanation, rags. It makes good sense. Perhaps I'll try it when my brain is functional.

September 12/2010 A light frost is expected at the end of this week. I'm hoping that most of my plants will survive it, but, just in case, I went around taking photos of the ones that are blooming now. This is the front of my house where there are geraniums and petunias along the house and in window boxes above. Most of the geraniums in the boxes are rooted from cuttings that were taken in March this year. The greenery along the edges is Forget-me-nots which are waiting until next spring to bloom again. Sheltered by diffuse, on Flickr There are a few pictures of individual flowers here: www.flickr.com/photos/diffuse/sets/72157624821066559/detail/rags

wow! a few days ago I took pics of the geranium, 2 begonias & 1 zygocactus flowering in my north-facing window. spring is springing here - and I now have a pair of gardening gloves! The Sunday paper was giving them away, along with some seeds which I refused as I usually refuse the family/kid oriented stuff they give away. Next time I pot a plant or top up the potting mix I can wear them, rather than my old washing up gloves. sandra
