I took a couple of photos of Joan's most recent knitting project this evening. When Joan has time, she can tell us about it. Joan was wearing her very warm vest because our weather is a wee bit chilly, (-20C outdoors at the moment, last night it was -25C). rags

Has anyone cut their own wool for a rug? I have rug canvas and would like to hook an other (small) rug, using my own pattern and wool 4 ply that I have on hand. Any help appreciated.

I have now been crocheting rugs. Using heavy ( or several strands) or chunky wool. will try to get my friend Rags to take a picture when she has time The first one I increased too many stitches so it has a small "ruffle" in it !! This next one I am being more careful and it is turning out better. A lady at my seniors centre has made approx. 125 and sold them for $25.00 each to aid the centre.

Joan is leaving tomorrow morning for the Yukon to look for a rich gold miner and she won't be back for over a month. I popped over to her house today with the camera. This was Joan's first attempt at crocheting a rug. This is the rug Joan is crocheting now.

when Joan posted her warm wooly afghan earlier this year I wanted to post pics of the lighter, fluffier shawls members of my group are making. Today I finally had my camera. Our craft group meets at a bowling club which gives us a lot of room for making quilts & spreading about. The shawls are knitted on circular needles, several balls are knitted together & the end of each row is left as a big loop. Sydney is a much warmer than Canada! sandra Attachments:
