Beautiful work, Sandra! What a great place you all have to work in.
You said that Sydney is a much warmer than Canada, but I noticed that everyone seems to be bundled up in long sleeved tops, when we're all wearing short sleeves here.
I talked with Joan on the phone on Tuesday. She's having a good time visiting her son and his family in the Yukon. She said that she's been doing a lot of crocheting and I think she said that she is doing some rug hooking. She'll be flying back home early in June. Hopefully we'll get a report then.

the pics were taken in August 2 years ago, today we are wearing long thin sleeves!
For late May it is still very warm, 25C, which is 6C above average for the month.
I'm sleeping under a fine wool shawl which is enough warmth - if I'm wearing a spencer under my short-sleeved nightie, I usually take it off as I'm a bit warm! May average minimum temp is 11 but we've been getting 13-16.
Tomorrow I start making my winter skirt (8-gores in a fine wool) & red fleece dressing gown. I'll be needing both in a couple of weeks when I head south for the weekend.

sorry to hijack your thread, Joan. I'm looking forward to more reports of your holiday.

Sandra, Thank you for explaining the way that people were dressed in the photos. I had to look up "spencer". Had never heard that term before. Wiki says it's thermal underwear. It's difficult for someone who lives in a much colder climate, but has central heating so the house is always toasty warm when we're at home, to imagine wearing that under nightwear. I hope that you'll be able to post photos of your winter skirt & red fleece dressing gown. Feel free to start another topic for them. The more the merrier. rags

Hello, Joan. I'm stuck inside and find myself wondering what projects you are working on this winter?

Hello, Joan. I'm stuck inside and find myself wondering what projects you are working on this winter? Maeve Hello Maeve, Joan has been having trouble with her computer being able to access this site. I spent some time with her and her computer this afternoon and hope that we solved the problem and she'll be able to respond here soon.
