If I had killer blue eyes, I'd pose too.

Mary, Mack is adorable and must be such a great help when you're quilting. I love blue eyed cats. (I've probably commented that before?) I'm glad that you found your instructions. I have similar problems because of tidying up before the grandchildren are coming for a visit. I'm still looking for things that I know I've put away somewhere safe. Now that you've located the missing green fabric and no longer need it, you may have to dream of another quilt to use it? rags

meow!
I don't have grandchildren, so I just clean up - on occasion, never regularly, that would be WORK - so I don't lose stuff so often.
I also have a box where stuff gets put in said occasional cleanups - & some stuff has been there thru more than one occasional cleanup!
And of course, there is always other stuff that still can't be found!

Here's a picture of Mack enjoying Katie's quilt. I finished piecing it, but can't decide how to quilt it. In order not to get too bored, I prefer to partially quilt in the ditch and partially pretty designs. This one is tough because there are not any large open areas.

Here's a picture of the second UK ragged edge throw I made. Also, on my design wall are the beginning blocks of a string quilt made from all my fabric scraps. (the end of the fabric food chain) Also, there is a teddy bear block I started but didn't like well enough to finish. I'm too spoiled for the strip piecing and fast methods.

Golly, Mary, what do you do with all your spare time? You accomplish so much and you do it so well. Mack told me he wants you to take your time deciding how to quilt Katie's quilt. He'll keep it warm until you decide.

I've almost finished another baby quilt for my soon to be great nephew. I'll post a picture later.
I missed the Paducah Quilt Show this year because of flooding. I decided to stay home and watch the Royal Wedding instead! I got up at 5 am to see it live. Anybody else that crazy? I had hoped to hear some beautiful music - the kind you only hear "live" because it doesn't make the cut in any of the synopses - but I was disappointed. I didn't recognize any of the music.

I finished the baby quilt for my niece. I originally tried orange and green materials, but as my son said, "It was ug-leeeeeeeeeeee. " I had this cheater cloth print, bought some green and pink striped material for the back, and machine quilted it with variegated pink and green thread. The print was not straight on the grain, but I think it just adds to the "wonkiness" of the whole quilt. Also, the batting was all cotten, and it's very soft. (plus the backing is very soft material)

Mary, The print on the top of the quilt is very cute! The baby will love it.
In answer to your long ago question, My husband and I stayed up watching the Royal Wedding, too.

One night in September I had a dream that Katie was getting married. I emailed her mom and told her about my dream. She said, "Oh............I don't believe it. She IS getting married next spring!"
In my dream I missed the date by a few days. Anyway, I've been furiously quilting in order to have it finished by April, earlier if possible for a wedding shower gift. I try to get in up to 3 hours a day!
I'm real happy with the quilting patterns I came up with. I'll try to get some pictures with the markings on it before I wash them out.
Mack still likes to sleep on it when I leave it sitting around. Does anyone know.........will a good machine washing get rid of the traces of a cat, just in case someone is allergic to cats? I sure hope so.

Mary, How fortunate that you followed up on your dream about Katie getting married. I wonder how much notice you would have had, otherwise and if you would have been able to to find enough time to finish the quilt before the wedding? I searched for information about removing cat allergen and found this: Wash all bedding in 140-degree hot water at least twice monthly. This eliminates both dust mite and cat allergen ..... so it appears that washing will take care of any Mack personalization. This is the site where I found the information: cats.about.com/od/allergiesandcats/a/allergictocat.htmrags
