What lovely, tranquil photos, rags. Thank you! I suspect we could share plants quite happily. Love the forget-me-nots!
Do you usually prune your wild roses at all? I've a patch of them I'd like to relocate, and would need to cut them way back to do so. Normally I just cut out deadwood.

I haven't pruned that wild rose bush. There is one in my front yard flowerbed that I have to keep cutting back the shoots a roots that like to spread out into the other plants. I cut out dead wood from that bush every few years. There are wild roses growing throughout my "natural" section. They pretty much do as they wish unless they are growing in the pathway through there.

Thank you. I shall just have to prune mine back and move them while dorment. I bet they will do fine. I'm turning that builder's fill, sloped patch of lawn into a no-mowing area so the roses can shift to a spot where they'll bloom their heads off without getting entangled with the groundcovers and spring/fall bulbs I'll be adding in next year.

Good luck with the transplants. Under your care I'm sure they will do well.

Thanks, but it will all depend upon the weather and my time. I love the wild roses, so if I can't move them this week they will have to wait for early spring for transplanting.
