It's a tad early, summer is still here, tho it is cooling, but I have a red zygocactus & a bud behind my north facing window! Apart from Oct-Dec flowers that occasionally hang on til January, the earliest the red has flowered was April a few years ago! A hoya appeared a couple of days ago & I forgot to take a pic, but it's too dark now - even flash does not work. Attachments:

I checked with friend who has a west facing balcony filled with zygocactus & other plants, but as she has been sick for months, her plants have not been receiving much attention & have not flowered. She was surprised mine had flowered. photos 11th March

another flower!! - can't add the picture as this forum has exceeded it's attachment space allowance. Your file cannot be uploaded
I got the same message last week so emailed rags at her personal address (last used a couple of years ago) with a screenshot of the message but got no reply, so sent her a message via this forum.

the fires are 30km southwest of me so I can't even smell the smoke - unlike to burn-off in the northern suburbs (20km) away last week but that day the wind was blowing our way. www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/ link to Rural Fire Services fire alerts

Thanks, Maeve and Sandra. I'll work on the "too many attachments already" problem.
I'm glad that the fires aren't a problem for you, Sandra. Will the threat be less as Autumn progresses, or is it so dry and warm there all year that it's always a worry?

Hi Sandra, and anyone else interested in attachments, I've started a topic in the Members only Forum cupofkindness.proboards.com/post/4830 I'd appreciate comments about how to deal with this problem. Thanks
