Thank you, Maeve! I am really pleased with how it turned out. Sandra, I have a wombat quilt. It's not yet quilted - hope to get it done this year - it has been hanging around my sewing room for a long time. An online quilting group to which I belong used to have "Angel and Mortal" swaps, same idea as Secret Santa but instead of a one-off exchange it went for six or 12 months and each month you were expected to send your "Mortal" a gift. In return, you received one. I joined in a few times and had lovely Angels, and in 2002......time it was finished, don't you think?......my Angel Cathy sent me a wombat block each month. I set them into a quilt top, and there they stayed. Originally I used a different border fabric but changed it for this darker brown which I like better. It's not very big so won't take long to quilt - I just haven't done it!

here they are! Rags - I was referring to an Australian expression a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock! Aw, cute! An inside joke.

I can't believe you left a WOMBAT quilt unfinished! sandra(shakes head in amazement) It's always nice to have a few things to look forward to. I'm very lucky to have many, many unfinished projects waiting for my time and attention. I'll have to stay on this earth many more years.

Sandra- Thanks for the laugh. Pretty wombats, Jennie!

Thank you, Maeve! It's getting closer to the top of my mental pile of "stuff to get a move on with"......as I always say, you can't rush genius.
Another expression related to the one mentioned by Sandra is "a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic".
Rags, I like to think that I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount, and right now I am so far behind that I can never die.

Thanks, maeve. I'm working on the same plan, Jennie. Not sure how my body will feel when I'm 250 years old, but I'm game to try to find out.

back in the 80s/90s I had 2 friends around my mother's age. They had calculated their need to live to 200 to do all the projects they had planned.
I include my Collection of Projects I'll never get around to doing on my Mudcat Secret Santa list.
