MUST get back to quilting! I'm looking for a printed 'flame' pattern fabric in red, orange and yellow on a black ground. I've found it with very small flames, but I'd really prefer larger ones. I don't really want to hand applique a lot of blocks with all those curves and points. Yes, I've searched the internet. (Mr. Google is your friend) Imagine the 'classic' Harley-Davidson flames for a lap quilt. Large center panel and black, yellow, orange then another black border. Any ideas?
Have I ever posted any pics of the Santa Socks I make with velvet, felt and beads? I can't remember. If not, I'll post a couple. Good morning from Wyobraska, which is about to get a major snow storm. sorcha? Is this one of your socks? cupofkindness.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hobby&thread=8&page=9#755

I've been making sock puppets for Katedottir's 4 yr old students. So far, an elephant and a 'possum. Well, it was SUPPOSED to be a possum. You decide. www.flickr.com/photos/sorchapics/

sorcha, Those are amazing! They are not the run of the mill sock puppets. You put so much detail into the elephant. What an imagination, you have.

An Irish dragon. Folklore says his name is Piaste (pawsht') but I think I'll call him Toasty. The center part of the eyes is iridescent. Looks black, but is all colors, sort of like titanium.

Sorcha, These are amazing, especially the dragon! Are there patterns to follow, or did you invent them totally yourself?
Do the googly eyes have a way to sew them on, or are they attached with glue?
Thanks, rags

The patterns are all in my head, Rags. Ideas abound on the Internet, then I give them my own twist. Some of the googly eyes are sew on, others glue on. The dragon eyes are a 'brass' covered plastic button with the center drilled out and an iridescent 'black' shank button glued on top. The possibilities are endless.
I have socks and plans for lots more. Pig, horse and zebra, bat, caterpillars, a red dragon, brown dog, a 'Classic' alien, etc.
I took the 8 I had finished up to the Head Start Center and they LOVED them. The woman in charge of 'In Kind' donations is valuing them at $25 each! I'm stunned! (My time gets them 'matching funds' in cash!)

And a Queen Dragon
Is there a way to get more than one pic in the same post/reply? You can put more than one image in a post if you have the images on Flickr. On Flickr, you click the "Share" tab, select BBCode and the size you want to display here, then copy the code to paste here. This is the thumbnail size. Clicking one of these images will open the full sized image on Flickr.
