Not sure where this thread should be....just rambling a bit here.
I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving, so I looked at the thread for last year. Not much has changed, except I forgot why I fixed green bean casserole last year instead of broccoli!
I've been thinking about food lately and just wanted to comment about a couple of TV programs we get. For someone who doesn't really enjoy cooking, I'm fascinated by these programs.
One is called "Chopped." It's about a competition between four chefs to make a dish in 30 minutes from several surprise ingredients, usually things that don't really go together. I love the way they improvise, and seem to throw together something really creative.
The other show is "Drive Ins, Diners, and Dives." It features a guy who travels around the USA and finds little out-of-the way eating places. He watches the cook prepare the menu and talks about the food. It all looks so tempting.
Why do I like these shows?

Mary, The TV people have a way of incorporating challenge and suspense and transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
