Does anybody here get seed catalogs? I used to, but I guess the companies took me off the mailing lists because I never ordered from them! I'm thinking about throwing my name and address around a bit to get on some of the mailing lists again. I once paid a few dollars to get my name on about 20 seed catalog and garden supply magazine lists. Anyone know of a similar offer?

Hello Mary, I used to get seed catalogs, too, and no longer get them because I hadn't ordered anything for many years.
I couldn't find a site that advertises what you're looking for, but a search for "seed catalogs" yielded several sites that have links to applying for free catalogs from a number of suppliers. It would probably be easy to get on a few mailing lists again. If you're worried about getting too much email from them you could create a new email address on Gmail, hotmail, or something similar and use it just for garden sites?
Happy gardening! rags

Mary, I emailed/telephoned requests for the few garden catalogs I knew I wanted. There are some I'd like but can't afford to pay for, so I watch for them at our village recycling center. I found three new ones today. Even when I don't order from them I learn a lot of helpful information as well as using the combined variety and culture write-ups to better judge what plants or seeds are the best choices for our farm. Do you know this site? www.mailordergardening.com/ It's not quite what you have asked for, but might be useful.

Maeve, that's a nice site. It has links to lots of sites which will let you order a catalog via email.......or.........browse and online catalog. I may try that this time.
Rags, I've been meaning to get another account. I have to change my email address every few years because of the spam I get. Right now, I don't get any spam.
I'd really like to try some unusual plants and flowers this year. I'm committed to watering after the horrible summer we had last year, so I just may be able to experiment with different flowers and veggies.

Mary, have you gotten the information you needed, or would you like to have seed/plant catalogs sent to you? I have a few extras and can get others at our local recycling shed.
