Hope Mr Rags is recovering well. The second picture is definitely a "if I pretend their not here they will go away" look

The second picture is definitely a "if I pretend their not here they will go away" look You're right about that, Megan. And we did go away and allow the bear to keep eating. It's good to see you posting again. Thank you for asking about Mr. rags. I took him to the hospital last Wednesday because his hand and arm are still badly swollen and seeming to get worse in that respect. According to the surgeon, he is healing well, but the swelling may never go away. The fistula is very successful so far. We hope that he'll never need to use it for dialysis. In spite of the swelling, he's been able to resume his hobby and also has been driving his car short distances.

Lets hope they are wrong about the swelling not going down. Glad he is getting back to his hobby and driving. I have been away for a bit the island is beautiful but so hard to reach family when something happens. Big brother was having trouble getting a joiner to fix wobbly floor boards (he has been trying since before Christmas)Eventually he decided to replace them himself and there the problems started. On lifting the boards he was shocked at the way the cables had been laid and took a little turn staggering a little he put his foot through the ceiling of the bathroom thankfully he had the sense to throw himself against the bannister when he felt himself start to fall and managed to get his other foot on a tiny bit of beam the bannister was sitting on so other than a few bruises no harm done. He put a board over the hole a few nights later he fell down the stairs when he went down to the toilet in the middle of the night. Thank goodness for the years he spent doing judo told me he had caught his shoulder but he was ok. Then he decided to mend the floor himself he phoned me up that night so proud of himself he had dropped the hammer through the hole but managed to swipe it with his hand to push it away from the toilet. Next morning got another call he had done it again but this time hadn't managed to reach it and had smashed the toilet so had to call out an emergency plumber, almost £130 to get a new one fitted. I have been trying to save to go down (not easy on benefit) since if I stayed with him I would have to sleep on the couch not being able to manage the stairs to the bedrooms. However one night when I was talking to him he grunted when I told him that was pain he admitted his back was still "a bit sore". That day I went to the ferry office and used what money I had to get over to Scotland. Usually I would stop for the night in Inverness since I hate driving but I did drive all the way down. couldn't get anyone to mend the ceiling so I did it most frustrating a job that I would have done in a couple of hours in my hay day had to be spread over a week and was only managed because the room was so narrow that I could wedge the steps between the bath and the wall so didn't have to fear falling. I could only do a few minutes at a time since I got dizzy every time I try to work above my head thankfully I could do all the cutting in the sitting room with his help and was able to wedge the patch with the cornice till I climbed down and rested for a bit till I could get the first screw in. And so it went screw sit down screw, same with the filler but that is the job done he has a friend who found out and has said he will send his grandson to put paper over it and then paint the ceiling. Gosh I am glad to be home .

Megan, It's very good to have you back.
What an ordeal! Your brother is fortunate to have a sister who is both skilled and persistent in getting the job done. I'm glad that it ended so well and that both you and your brother survived in what sounded like a very dangerous work situation.

I tried to explain that an 82 year old diabetic prone to dizzy turns should perhaps think about giving up on the DIY I have a feeling their was a Shetland pony mixed in with our ancestry some where along the line.

Very well done, Megan. You and your brother are fortunate to have one another. I like that Shetland pony stubborn streak in you.

You did fine, Sandra. That's the sort of URL I've had trouble with here. Now I know to look closely at the actual gobbledygook perhaps I can access some of those recalcitrant links.

Very interesting article, Sandra. What a fun event for the farmer to be able to keep as a photo.
Maeve,it's interesting how your setup is processing the links. I don't know enough about coding to know why it does that. I'm glad that you've found the clue for a work around. The link that my computer shows me is "http://www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2017-05-31/what-a-hoot-sa-farmer-captures-selfie-with-tawny-frogmouth/8576478".
On edit, I did some searching. Most results were from several years ago. Some people on sites like this were complaining about the "redirect.viglink.com" links, while others had no idea what they looked like. It seems that it's a site that brings advertising revenue to "free" boards like this one by redirecting links past extra advertising. It's supposed to run in the background and not be noticed. If I understand correctly most people have blockers on their systems that prevent that from happening.
redirect.viglink.com appears to have an "opt out" link that, in theory, will stop it from hijacking your links, but I would be afraid to click on that because I have no idea if that site can be trusted not to use that to ad more intrusive material to a clicker's computer.

sheep, sheep, come home! Wild and woolly Cecil the sheep falls just short of world-record fleece Tasmanian sheep Cecil has fallen three kilograms short of the world record for the heaviest fleece. The woolly wether underwent a major trim in Launceston after being lost in the bush for years and his fleece weighed in at a whopping 38 kilograms. That's just 3.1 kilograms shy of the world record set two years ago by a stray mop top from Canberra named Chris. (read on& admire these sheep!)
