While they are not growing in my garden, the other day I received a delivery of flowers from No 1 son for a late birthday/Mother's Day present........red gerberas with tulips and day lilies which are now opening to reveal purple tulips and orange day lilies! Sounds quite garish but isn't.....just lovely and cheerful and bright. Bright is good.
He told them "no pink flowers, my mum doesn't like pink"......that's my boy! I don't.

Close up of the peony (before the thunderstorms). Mary, Your blooms are all gorgeous, especially the peony. We used to have those when I lived at the coast. It always seemed that just when they were in full bloom the rains would come and destroy them. Sandra, Your geranium is a beautiful shade of pink. Your plants all seem to do so well. I suspect that your winters are warmer than our summers. We had some snow last Friday. rags

Yes indeed, Jennie. We'll see what's left of them after the rainstorms move on.

maeve, What a gorgeous photo of your beautiful lilacs! Have they survived in the rain?
