that's what I think, & Craft Group members agree to my suggestion of hanging them up & using the good ol' handtowel!
I'll get some heat resistant wadding asap & make more for pressies!

roll drum - back of quilt last week group members suggested taking one of the colours in each side to bind it. So I chose the 5th colour & cut wide bias strips. The 2 shortest just fitted & the ends hid under the other sides. now what's next? by-the-by, JennieG posted a pic of my wombat! It's her WOW - Wombat of the Week bronzewombat.blogspot.com/

Beautiful! The silk shines like jewels, Sandra. Your handiwork skills shine as well.
It is lovely.

thanks, maeve. Those colour swatches were the best crafty present I've ever had. There's no way I could have made the quilt without then. Imagine trying to buy tiny pieces of 27 silks! My next project will be a miniature corset. I've dressed a series of 18" dolls in historic costume in the past & 15 had corsets (1611 has a totally boned bodice which naturally stands up on it's own, & 1066 didn't wear one) & I've also copied several existing 19th century doll corsets (must photograph those corsets & scan those some old pics) I'll probably be using this book www.amazon.co.uk/Corsets-Historic-Techniques-Jill-Salen/dp/1906388016/ref=pd_sim_b_8 - check out the contents. It also includes a few doll corsets My previous corsets were made from the first edition of this book - www.amazon.com/Corsets-Crinolines-Norah-Waugh/dp/0878305262

I must also take a pic of the cabinet as it is today with the corsets on hangers on the back wall!

Sandra, The felt toys are all very cute! I love the detail in the tail and ear of the pink elephant.
