I made the 4" baby about the same time & left her dressed in nappy (diaper) & matinee jacket for about the same time. Then I made her more clothes - an underdress, a fancy dress & bonnet, & a silk-lined flannel cape

I have more patterns & might add to her wardrobe one day.

I love all the pictures!
Hubby had his second knee replacement so I got a lot of quilting done.
Sandra, what exactly is sashiko? The snowflakes were lovely. I thought sashiko was design-type quilting - making dashed lines with embroidery floss.

I have finished a couple of bags, one for me and one as a gift. I have put pics on my blog bronzewombat.blogspot.com/ The Maple Leaf one is mine, the flower bag further down was a gift, but a friend has asked me to make her one too. Jennie, Your bags are really lovely. You do such beautiful work! I'm sure the recipients are thrilled to have them. rags

Sandra, The small dolls with wardrobes are mind boggling.
I have a doll collection and had great plans to sew clothing for some of them but never seem to get around to doing it. I don't think that I'd ever attempt to make clothes for doll that small.

rags, theh only reason I dressed the small dolls is I ran out of dolls I could enter in the competition. I prefer to dress 18" dolls cos I can put 2 fingers in the armhole when sewing it! As I have serious space problems, I might just enter 18" dolls next year cos the chaperone doll is sitting on other dolls in my cabinet! But I have lots more 18" dolls in the other cabinet. I've just finished my last entry for the Doll Club comp - it was my 3rd attempt at a small bag. First idea was 2 roundish shapes on a piece of Japanese silk - sizes weren't close enough for front & back, so I have 2 circley bits to quilt one day. Second was 2 fabrics I bought at a local fabric shop to match a 6 thread Japanese braid I have - they were perfect in the shop but no good under my Daylight (brand) lamp. Braid includes blue & looked purpley in the shop, but was too purpley at home, dunno why cos the staff are all quilters & used to matching fabrics. At least I only bought 25cms of each fabric. imagine buying lots of fabrics for a quilt! Wisteria print will be perfect as a birthday bag for a friend who is a purple chick. So I looked thru my fabric stash & found a greyish material, prob. not pure cotton, maybe not even cotton, but the needle went thru comfortably so I cut it out & found several simple designs & quilted both sides, attached braids & voila!

Bag now has a 3rd prize ribbon! & Threadbear Freddie has a 2nd prize ribbon. Alas, none of the dolls have ribbons.

ps. Freddie's the type of bear made to look like he's lived a long life
Since he was photographed, his scarf had been enhanced by a red poppy badge, bought on Rememberance day.

Sandra, The bag is very beautiful!
Congratulations on your ribbons. The dolls which placed ahead of yours must have been fabulous, (or the judges need better eyeglasses.)

Yes, NICE bag, and congrats! It seems that most of my pics are too large to post here, how can I make them fewer KB? I moved Conrads (the pheasant) eye and it looks MUCH better now! www.flickr.com/photos/sorchapics/4411962980/

the new eye is definitely in a better place, even if the pattern said to put the eye lower down on the head, it looks better where you moved it.
Sorcha, I recently had my (ancient) 7 year old iMac upgraded & am consequently without a photo program because the freeware program I used doesn't work with the latest Mac operating system.
Which means I can't resize pics, so some of my older full size pics can't be posted here because they're far too big. When a friend finds a good freeware photo program for me I'll be able to resize, but he's been frantically busy for weeks. fooey - he's supposed to be my Personal Help Desk - how dare he get involved in his webmaster duties elsewhere!
The note next to the Browse button says attachements need to be maximum size 1024KB - if you can resize pics, you could reduce some of your pics to size - I used to use 'Save As' for the resized pic so I could still keep the High Res. pc.
I recently posted a partly illustrated article on another site, & had to send the pics that were too large to the Administrator asking him to add them to the article!

It seems that most of my pics are too large to post here, how can I make them fewer KB? Sorcha, Since you post the photos on Flickr, go to the picture there, open it. Look above it and click "All sizes". It shows the dimensions of each size option. Choose the size you think would be good here and click "Download the ------ size". Then upload it from wherever your computer stores downloads. Sandra, As a temporary fix for resizing, you could get a free Flickr.com account and follow the steps I just posted for sorcha. If you don't want the public to see the photos, just upload them as "Private", resize them and download the new size back to your computer. rags
