What a difference! Shaun looks rather gaunt under all that fleece. He'll be a bit of a celebrity for a while.
I'm wondering, since they seem to know where he came from, why wouldn't they return him to his original owners?

Sandra, I'd never heard this expression before. Thank you for posting it. If I ever come across it, I won't be quite as puzzled about what it could mean. I'm assuming it won't turn up in a North American context, though. Do you do crossword puzzles? rags

rags, I play with crossword puzzles.
Even tho I have a number of crossword dictionaries & a thesaurus, I tend to give up before getting them out!
Once upon a time I used to finish every puzzle by filling in any missing words & write these new words in my crossword dictionaries for future reference ...

back in the 90s I met an American family working here for 2 years & they had problems doing our crosswords. I could make a fair go of American crosswords because American culture has been here since the American movies industry started exporting! Well, after the Civil War Minstrel Shows toured here, & even before that US & Australian gold rushes led to cultural mixing.

Just about anyone would would be pleased to get that mush weight off! Even though my hair is long it wouldn't weigh that much, if it was cut short I wouldn't suddenly go back to being the Svelte Young Thing like what I used to be......le sigh.......

Sandra, My husband loves to do crossword puzzles in the newspaper. I'm impressed with how well he does as English is not his first language. He doesn't consider it cheating to get on the computer and Google the clues. He is often rewarded with the correct answer. I can imagine that Americans would find Australian clues difficult. I'm sure that I would. Australian is very different from Canadian and British English. American culture is pervasive in Canada so we are bilingual (Canadian/American). LOL! rags

What a fun idea! I'm not familiar with the Doctor Who character. It does look interesting. Below that entry was a link about Tunisian crochet which caught my attention, because I'm still working on the Tunisian crochet blankets. I didn't know that method was so versatile. I'd like to learn some of the other stitches. rags

I'm not familiar with the Doctor Who character. It does look interesting. The Doctor Who TV series is 50 years old. It's a BBC series & has been seen on TVs across the world since it started.

Hi Sandra, Thanks for the informative link. I thought "Dr Who" was a James Bond character. I don't think the show has been available on my cable service in Northern Canada. It looks like a fun series. I can see why people would be making items to commemorate it.
